About the Role

Alphacrucis University College is seeking a highly organised and student-focused permanent part-time (3 days/week) Education Support Officer to join the School of Education. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role works closely with the Directors of Study, Director of Professional Experience, Regional Directors, adjunct lecturers, and students to support the smooth operation of the School. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a collaborative higher education environment and is passionate about supporting students throughout their academic journey.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for student enquiries across the student lifecycle
  • Provide timely and accurate administrative support to students and academic staff
  • Coordinate student support and academic progression interventions
  • Support enrolment, commencement, and ongoing student communication processes
  • Maintain student-at-risk registers, Disability Support Officer (DSO) records, and teaching school data
  • Assist with reporting, audits, and compliance-related administration
  • Support Moodle and learning management system administration
  • Coordinate communication and administration for adjunct lecturers
  • Assist with operational improvements, projects, and process development
  • Prepare agendas, take meeting minutes, and track follow-up actions
  • Support quality assurance and compliance with University procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working within higher education, education, or student support environments
  • Experience with academic administration and student engagement
  • Understanding of the mission of Christian higher education is highly regarded
  • Commitment to the Christian faith that informs professional and personal conduct

Required Skills

  • Experience in academic administration, student services, or higher education support
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative and professional approach to teamwork
  • Experience using student management systems and learning management systems such as Moodle
  • A genuine commitment to supporting students and delivering excellent service

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a fast-paced education environment
