
About the role
Alphacrucis College is seeking an experienced Program Director for VET & HE Diplomas of Chaplaincy & Community Services to join our educational leadership team. This is a part-time position based in Parramatta, NSW, offering flexibility whilst maintaining strategic oversight of our vocational and higher education diploma programmes.
In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of our Diplomas in Chaplaincy and Community Services across both vocational education and training (VET) and higher education (HE) frameworks. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our programmes remain contemporary, industry-relevant, and aligned with regulatory requirements whilst upholding the college's commitment to excellence and Christian values. This position has significant impact on programme outcomes, student satisfaction, staff performance, and the college's reputation within the education and community services sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the Diplomas of Chaplaincy and Community Services across VET and HE offerings, ensuring alignment with college objectives and industry standards
- Oversee curriculum design, development, and review to ensure programmes remain current, comprehensive, and meet regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Manage programme budgets, resources, and staffing requirements, ensuring effective allocation and utilisation of funds
- Lead and mentor the academic and support staff delivering these programmes, providing professional development opportunities and performance management
- Monitor and enhance programme quality through data analysis, student feedback, and stakeholder consultation, implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies, accreditation standards, and college policies for both VET and HE delivery
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, employers, and community organisations to ensure work-integrated learning opportunities and graduate employment outcomes
- Recruit, enrol, and support students through their learning journey, addressing retention and completion outcomes
- Prepare reports and documentation for college leadership, accreditation bodies, and external stakeholders
- Represent the programmes at industry forums, education conferences, and promotional events
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (chaplaincy, community services, counselling, social work, theology, or related field) at bachelor degree level or higher
- Formal qualifications or certification in education, training delivery, or educational leadership (such as MAITS, Graduate Certificate in Education, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5–7 years' experience in vocational education and training or higher education teaching and programme delivery
- Demonstrated experience in programme management, curriculum design, and quality assurance within an educational institution
- Strong knowledge of VET and HE regulatory frameworks, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements in Australia
- Proven experience in staff supervision, mentoring, and team leadership
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse audiences
- Sound financial management and budgeting experience
- Experience in chaplaincy, community services, counselling, or related fields is highly valued
- Commitment to Christian values and understanding of faith-based educational contexts is preferred
- Proficiency with learning management systems, student information systems, and educational data analysis
