About the Role
Alphacrucis University College (AC) is seeking several passionate and experienced educators to join our team as Tertiary Supervisors. We are currently seeking multiple Tertiary Supervisors to support our growing number of education students across various placement locations. This vital role supports Teacher Education Students (TES) during their professional experience (PEX) placements in early learning centres.
Most of the work aligns with key placement periods during the academic year, with occasional opportunities at other times. This flexible, contract-based role is ideal for educators who are looking for meaningful, casual work within a Christian higher education environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support Teacher Education Students during their placement.
- Conduct virtual meetings/phone calls to discuss student progress with Mentor Teachers and Teacher Education Students (TES).
- Assess one learning experience plan and one observation, complete a formal evaluation, and provide constructive feedback.
- Clarify assessment requirements and address concerns raised by students or host ELC/Service.
- Ensure alignment with Alphacrucis’ academic standards and values throughout the placement.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Christian education, with strong communication skills and a heart for mentoring future teachers.
Essential Criteria
- Practicing Christian with active church involvement.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Teaching/Education/Early Childhood.
- Experience teaching in a school or early childhood setting.
- Experience supervising pre-service teachers.
- Strong understanding of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and/or ACECQA National Quality Standards and EYLF V2.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) or state equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable with online systems and remote communication.
Desirable
- Familiarity with Christian schools/Child Care Centres and their mission in vocational and higher education contexts.
