Financial Stewardship
Understanding finance is critical to the long term success of any organisation and the material in this course will give students the understanding to make wise financial decisions. This subject develops the student’s ability to apply tools of investment analysis and gain an in-depth understanding of the time value of money. Students will explore the historical, legal, ethical and theological contexts of accounting and finance, and will learn how to read and interpret financial statements and understand double entry bookkeeping, construct and analyse budgets, calculate present values of cash flows, and critically discuss the distinction between private and social valuation.
