Outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of the theory of matrices, linear transformations of Euclidean spaces; eigenvalues, eigenvectors and their applications; vector spaces; concepts of orthogonality in vector spaces; formulate sustained mathematical argument with proofs when necessary;
- Apply the Simplex method, the transportation algorithm, cut algorithm and Branch and Bound algorithm for solving optimisation problems; network analysis techniques to solve minimum-span, shortest route and maximal-flow problems;
- Demonstrate problem solving skills using the concepts of linear algebra and operations research
- Demonstrate knowledge of the concepts of linear algebra and operations research in context and the ability to use these concepts to make reasoned, logical answers with sound mathematical reasoning.
