| Abstract |
Inner Healing Prayer (IHP) is a Holy Spirit-led, prayer-based approach to emotional and spiritual healing that integrates theological insight with psychological understanding. Based on the conviction that personal transformation arises through direct encounters with God, IHP addresses inner wounds, unresolved pain, and spiritual disconnection while contributing to Christian growth, discipleship, and holistic wellbeing. This phenomenological study explores the lived experiences of Australian participants who found IHP transformative for their wellbeing, focusing on its distinctive features, including Spirit-led processes, the healing of memories, and the use of imagination. Informed by pastoral theology, theological anthropology, and Transformational Learning Theory, (TLT) the research highlights how IHP fosters emotional resolution, psychological integration, spiritual renewal, and deepened self-awareness, offering insights to refine inner healing practices and support pastoral care. |
